Booster Meeting

In Attendance: Joe Torres, Misti Torres, David Bostwick, Jodi Provence, Brandon Wallace & Kerry Wallace Topics of Discussion & Notes: Homecoming: Homecoming Parade is Wednesday, Oct 19 @ 515pm Do we want to put together a parade float? Majority says yes- due to the 8-9 senior kids on team we need to take into consideration this is their last year at MHS and also still need to let public know we have wresting available at both Youth and HS stages. Do we have time to get a float ready for all kids? Joe will contact Coach Reed and send out Remind text to all students for participation. We could take trailer to HS and allow kids to decorate there instead of a practice one night Will we reach out to the Youth Team, Midlo Wrestling Factory, to participate? Brandon will speak to Coach Wade regarding this and follow up w Joe Banners? Booster does not have money in account at this time to purchase banners, may be parent donations could be considered 2 trailers needed to accommodate – Joe will discuss w Coach Reed and ask for parent participation and also need another truck + trailer. Supplies needed to decorate as well. The Wallace’s offered roll of butcher paper for use Brandon & Kerry Wallace will be out of town this week, unable to offer direct assistance w this event Banquet: Tuesday, March 21, 2017 (Time: TBD) Camp Hoblitzelle “Longhorn Room” Mr. Brown @ Camp Hoblitzelle will be emailing w Facility info….Table sizes and qty, chairs, food choices. We know that w this reservation the stereo, 1 projector, tables & chairs will be supplied. NOT SUPPLIED: decorations, food (must use Camp H catering), table cloths >> Kerry Wallace has black table cloths we can use, appx 10-12 but need to know table sizes first. This is the FIRST banquet that will ever be done for MHS – need to set an example Will award JV and Varsity in 3 categories both Male and Female wrestlers. Will honor seniors (est 8-10 seniors) and parents (flowers are already being donated for this from local Midlo shop). Captains will honor Coach Reed 3 slide show presentations to play during banquet & awarding – Brandon Wallace has details on this We will sell banquet tickets – Brandon Wallace will use AI program to make one that we can print for sales Ticket prices will be determined once we have email from Mr. Brown at Camp H regarding food – we will VOTE on food and ticket pricing next meeting. Ticket sales will begin once students return from winter break with cutoff being March 1st. We have to let Camp H know final headcount on food, etc 1 week prior to event. All students to receive gift – tumblers w logo + year. (30-35 students once FB completed) ?? Secretary needed for Booster – Kerry Wallace volunteered & was voted in 5-0 Fundraisers: UIL rules state that you can only do 2 annual fundraisers – we lost 1 fundraising due to T-shirt sales! Coach Reed will have to present any ideas to UIL Board for prior approval Fundraising Ideas Presented: Popcorn, Beef Jerky, Coolers Coolers: Jodi will call Coach Wade’s contact where Youth team purchased Coolers last year to gain pricing Local donations needed so all booster will scout area. David Bostwick has form to present to businesses for this. We want to give scholarships to couple seniors – have them write 1 pg and see if MHS teacher will read and choose. Fundraisers will also be discussed further at next Booster meeting. Set next meeting to be Nov. 13th @ 7pm
